So, back in September or so, my friend Mandy, who is one of the partners of the Steampunk Laboratory, brought to my attention a letter-to-the-editor in the August, 2008 issue of Mechanical Engineering magazine.  That letter explained that it would be cool if people could use "steampunk" to inspire students into a career in engineering.  Heh.  We agreed.

I wrote a quick letter to the magazine, and then a follow-up letter when the editors at ME Magazine asked for one.  Alas, I think they published the first one, which was drafted in rather a rush, and didn't include information about our new community workshop.  Regardless, I'm pleased to have any kind of press!
